    They made it their priority in life to make mine miserable. They starved me. They beat me. They locked me out of the way. I was their household slave, in all but title. They taught me to cater to their every whim, and take pain without a twitch. They taught me about what I deserved. They taught me how important I truly was. I was the lynchpin of their happiness and health. I learned what they wanted, and more. I learned what I needed to, and more. I learned how to survive, and more. They could mock me, and I could smile through it. They could hurt me, but I could fix it. They could break me, but I could stay whole. They could burden me, but I could push forward. They could kill me, but I'm not done with them yet.
