Description

Pair: Halian Nir and Sonya (Family Name Redacted)

Their Story: Halian was a young orphan in the Los Santos' Little Saints Orphanage. He'd been there since before he could remember, and all he ever was told was that he was left on the doorstep wrapped in some rather cozy blankets. While his biological parents remained a mystery, he never really cared for their identities one way or another. They left him at an orphanage- either they had a good reason to ditch him, or they weren't worth caring about in the first place. He learned rather young that the world wasn't kind enough for empathy to anyone you don't know you should care for. His fellow orphans (and a handful of the caretakers) were worth caring about. His unknown parents? Not worth the emotional brainpower.

In the end, though, he ended up getting adopted by man and woman who (through unfortunate biological issues) couldn't have a child of their own. While his new father wasn't really all that interested in having a kid himself, he knew it'd make his wife happy, and he saw the potential of having an heir of sorts to possibly help in the "family business" later down the line. Said business being the running of an entire section of the criminal underworld. While Halian absolutely adored his new mother (a mutual feeling), his father and he never really got passed a sort of 'teacher-student' relationship. There was only the professional pride that Halian took to his teachings so quickly. The student showed excessive ability in his 'enforcer' training, but he was not to be discounted when it came to speech, politics, and other mental dealings.

When Halian finally made it to middle school, he found himself in a body of students he'd never met, and surrounded by examples of why the city of filled to the brim with absolute assholes. When eighth grade came around there was a new transfer student. She was absolutely gorgeous, with a body that... Really didn't belong on a middle-schooler. But the thing that caught his attention was her kindness. Not the "kindness" the shallow girls around the school usually emitted. He trained and practiced mental warfare with The Kingpin (there was some other small fry in town claiming to be a kingpin as well, but the idiot was so blunt and unsubtle his father left the retard to draw attention off of himself) of Los Santos. This new girl was practically a saint. She was innocent.

She was a sheep in a pack of wolves.

He found himself drawn to her- perhaps a small part of it was her natural attractiveness, but the majority of it was the urge to protect that innocence in this disgusting city. Within the first day, she'd quickly claimed him as her friend, and thus creating a not-small number of hormone-driven idiots to deal with. Something he was whole-heartedly capable of handling. Within the week, with her keeping to her first new friend's side, they were easily claiming one another to be their respective "best friend."

By the end of the school year, and learning much about one another (she, surprisingly, was absolutely fine with learning about his family's tendency to ignore most laws), they'd finally given into the catcalls around school claiming them to be a couple. They literally spent, at minimum, hours a day in each other's presence before beginning to (officially) date. She was a happy girl, with a more often than not positive outlook in life, and he was her darker half- just as capable of kindness, but far less likely to show it to strangers. He knew how people worked, and she knew that she could trust him to make judgement calls far better than herself when it came to other people. She was completely aware that she had little intuition about other's intentions towards her if they had even an inkling ability to hide them.

But she was also aware that he could almost nail someone's personality down with a simple greeting. She dutifully ignored her other half's subtle "discouragement" of several other boys (and the occasional grown man, creepy as that was) who made a pass at her and didn't get the hint when she turned them down the first time. She always found his protectiveness cute (and surprisingly effective) whenever he started holding her a bit closer to him when he got irritated. He was almost half a head shorter than her, much to his consternation and their peers' teasing. He was always an adorable, loving, and highly lethal puppy in her arms. She wasn't stupid: that weirdo that flirted with her every time she went to buy her family groceries just kind of... Disappeared. By force.

Once high school came around, there was yet another transfer student caught their attention. A blonde- rather bratty sounding, despite being rather cute- by the name of Tracey. She seemed to take the shallow ditz stereotype to a T. Halian saw it for what it was though- she was spoiled, true, but a lot of the bratty teen-princess she was throwing around felt forced and quite fake. As such, it took a grand total of three days before Tracey met and befriended Halian- who put up with quite a bit worse than her bratty demeanor- and through him Sonya. Luckily, they got to her before many of the other less desirable factions in the school got a hold of her friendship. She was apparently disappointed when she found out Sonya and he were dating, but Sonya quickly raised her spirits with some back patting and a hug. He shrugged it off, but was rather surprised to find out that Tracey was his new next-door-neighbor, the De Santa family.

Following that discovery, he and Sonya met the newly moved family and were quickly integrated into each other's lives. Well, Tracy's brother was a bit of a little brat himself, but he stayed in his room for the most part anyway. Sonya and Halian found themselves keeping Tracey's errant mind from getting her into some rather stupid and occasionally dangerous situations. Like that time she she wanted to get implants when she turned 18. Her friends didn't understand why the hell she would want to get them- she was by no means lacking in the department (and unless her mother had extensive surgery herself, she never would be). They were able to talk her out of the procedure, and instead went to the amusement park on the pier for her big birthday.

Then there was the time she fell for some stupid ploy laid out by a couple of dishonest horndogs looking for an easy 'score.' Sonya understood exactly what Halian meant when he said that he was going to go "hang out with Tracey for a bit." She just smiled and told him where they were going out to eat for their next date. Tracey's "admirers" were found in critical condition the following morning, practically coating the an alley with their bodily fluids.

Not to say that Sonya was completely unaffected outside of some hormonal school boys and pedophiles. While he had asked his father to make sure that none of his men bother her (which he acknowledged after meeting the girl and seeing how well she got along with Ishina), basically granting her the same protection as his mother, there were still some errant gangs and groups out there that were either too stupid to follow warnings or didn't know anything about her in the first place.

One particular incident involved Halian fending off yet another pervert that kept verbally harassing Sonya in some sort of attempt to woo her... Or intimidate her into his clutches. It wasn't really clear what he was doing, but he wanted in her pants- he made that much clear. After leaving him with a black eye, they continued on their date, before the idiot returned with a couple groupies in order to get some payback (and probably get Sonya while they were at it). They made some rather... rude remarks about his girlfriend, and even more passing notions of what they'd do to his adoptive mother, before wrapping it up with a promise to beat him to a pulp. Although Sonya was incredibly uncomfortable, Halian simply held her closer for a few moments, before responding.

"Well, that explains if you were aa threat or just stupid..." followed by the most brutal beatdown with a simple lead pipe (you couldn't walk the streets of Los Santos without some form of weapon aside from your fists, and he didn't want to dirty his pocket knife that night. So he just picked a stray piece of plumbing up) that block of Los Santos had ever witnessed. Before planting the dented weapon upside the last one's head, he caught the name of their little gang. "The Blood Tear" gang. Noted by the tattoo of a tear-shaped drop under their left eye. It looked ridiculous.

After taking Sonya home without any further interruptions, he asked her to stay at his house for a couple hours, but unfortunately not for the reason a girl would normally stay over at a boy's house. After asking his father for nay information as to this 'gang's whereabouts, and a stop at the family's armory, Halian disappeared from the house for the next five hours.

The next day, Sonya woke up to a freshly showered Halian spooning her and snoring lightly into her neck. During breakfast, the family (and Sonya) watched as the news came up talking about how a gang-war had ended up in a massacre of a local gang that had been causing ruckus in the southern districts of Los Santos. Evidently, the ones they fought with had 'taken any of their bodies with them' when they left. Seeing the number of casualties after they were counted up, the kingpin just sighed in annoyance.

"You're paying for that ammo out of your pocket."

    "Of course."

Exactly three of the hoodlums had been left alive, physically scarred, and mentally fractured. But they served their purpose: nobody ever made a move towards Sonya again. Ever. The police couldn't pin anything on him even when her name came up attached to his. Sonya was both flattered and bemused. She knew for a fact he would never even raise a hand at her (well, unless she asked for it anyway), and she knew he'd be fully willing to resort to violence to protect her, but she'd never realized just how damn good he was at it. He'd literally started and ended a gang war and blamed it on another gang that doesn't exist. His father didn't even need to pay anyone off to cover for him. He played life like she played highly competitive online games (and Jimmy still didn't realize that Halian's girlfriend" was the one that kept wrecking his kill-streaks).

The reward he got for his actions that night was worth the loss of life. To him, anyway.

After graduating high school, Sonya went on to several different internships related to computer science, before starting college courses (mostly online, but there was an extension of a campus in town). She was well on her way to becoming a game developer, just like she always wanted as a child who was excessively proficient at ending anonymous players online.

Halian didn't head off to college in the least- frankly the educational system just wasn't for him. He was never an academic person, and while his sciences' scores were slightly above average at best, classes related to psychology and physical education were his specialties. After school, he continued under his father, before getting a well-paying job at one of his family's owned strip clubs. A highly popular one, at that. He ended up becoming the lead bouncer in no time flat, considering he was better than any other bouncer they'd ever hired and he got on well with the other employees. Yes, even the dancers.

Sonya was surprisingly happy for him about getting said job. Not only was he doing something he was notoriously good at (physically and mentally manhandling idiots and jerks), but the employees (who usually tended to get into a lot of trouble, considering their clientele) were safe beyond their own knowledge. There'd only been one "look don't touch" warning necessary whenever the issue came up. It might've had something to do with the disturbingly sharp implement of pain (aka his pocket knife) he'd been cleaning at the time. The dancers themselves were caught between amused and jealous when Sonya came in one evening and dragged him over to sit in one of the booths (he could watch the club and enjoy her company from there). They'd never seen a couple sit and watch practically naked women dance around with hopeless perverts hollering at them with such nonchalance and amusement.

Life continued on fairly well- it was only a few short years later Halian finally remember: No. They weren't married yet.

Her Quirk: Sonya was always a kind girl. Originally, she had been a shy one, always the awkward person in the back of the class. Later, though, she'd made plenty of friends and came out of her shell. One of the reasons, though, was that she took out literally all her aggression on the poor saps pitted against her online. She was a goddess of virtual competition. Sign of Honor was her favorite (not including it's alien invasion mode) battlefield to extend her kill count. Halian was just the best friend she ever made, easily outranking anyone from back before they moved. She loved him even if he was still a noob at the online experience ("Luv, I'm in the top twenty percent of players in this game..." 'Its okay, Hally- I won't stop loving you just because you don't know how to play~'). He cared greatly for her, and had no compunctions showing it. He also seemed to attract a  multitude of women to his presence, for some reason. Just something she noted over the years. She had no issue with this- she knew he'd never kick her out of his heart. Tracey was quite cute, and several of those dancers were nice to look at as well. Sonya never bothered to tell anyone she was bisexual.

She figured it'd be a fun little secret for Halian (and maybe Tracey) to find out on their own.

    ... F*ck you, Hal.

His Quirk: Halian was one of the designated "older brother"s of the orphanage children when he was there. He was the third eldest one before he was adopted, and tended to be one of the ones the younger kids ran to when there was trouble. Well- the younger girls, anyway. Probably something to do with his rather effeminate features. He numbed Jake's arm with a good punch when he made that crack at his "girly" looks. He learned how the world tended to not be as bright as you want it, and tried his best to teach this to the younger kids without breaking their valued innocence.

When he was adopted, he was ecstatic with the mother he'd gotten. She was loving, supporting, and, for lack of a better phrase, "everything you could want in a mother." His father left much to be desired in the way of parenting, but he was a good mentor for life in general. Especially in his corrupted city. When he found Sonya, radiating her innocence for all to defile, his childhood protective instincts jumped to the fore- just like he used to with the other orphans. In doing so, he found his best friend. They got along, she was kind, happy, wrapped up in caring, and not a shallow brat. The fact that she was an angel in flesh as well was just bonus as far as he cared. It didn't take long after he met her and get to know her to dedicate his heart to her. Romantic heart, that is. Fact of the matter is, there are very few cures for Momma's Boy syndrome.

Heeeey- I actually wrote it...!

To be honest, the only reason I basically shoved this into the GTA-verse was because it was on my mind at the time the original doodle happened. And for some reason I found it amusing if Halian had befriended the DeSanta family.
