Background!
Catherine has always been the prankster of the family. With her semblance and growing skills in stealth, she was practically tailor made for the spot! She would pull the prank on her target (generally her siblings or father, since Mother was a scary little thing, but she wasn't free of it entirely) and then spend a while after that running and hiding. It was both fun, adrenaline-pumping, and excellent training for her future. The only one who could ever find her with no trouble at all, was her baby brother. He seemed to be immune to her semblance, and had a knack for stumbling upon her accidentally when she was hiding. Luckily, as she knew, he was always willing to appeal to his beloved family. She could safely hide behind him after running away and he'd tell the other sisters or mother (Father generally laughed any of her jokes off, since he had a good sense of humor to match), who knew he could find her, that he hadn't seen her recently. Unfortunately for her, this only worked when she got to him first. If her target did, he'd generally be love-bound to help whoever asked first. He was easily bribed with affection or his favorite treats, when he was younger.
This eventually became a sort of game: She pull the prank, and then the first one to get to Jaune would generally get their way. Either she'd get off the hook after hanging out with Jaune invisibly for the day, or she'd end up "punished" by the target. Even as he got older, this pattern would remain (although even he started to find it amusing) and provided excellent training for stealth on both sides of the battle. When he was younger, prior to learning of his immunity, he was just as opportune a pranking target for the older Catherine. Unfortunately, after one particular prank where he didn't blink in time when she'd unleashed a classic bag of flour to coat him white, she'd spent nearly two hours clutching him (in turn making herself white) in a hug and apologizing repeatedly for getting flour in his eyes. Even after he'd cried the powder out of his eyes after the first ten minutes, she was nearly crying in regret for hurting him unintentionally. Her pranks were never meant to hurt- just humiliate or annoy. This pattern would repeat with any of her siblings if her pranks went wrong, or had unintended consequences. In turn, her next pranks would be far more careful, and less likely to go askew. That incident, on top of finding out he was the only one who could find her easily, led to him being a far less chosen target in her sights.
Jaune didn't really blame her. He understood her pranking, and that it was an accident. It was nice being held for so long, even if he actually spent nearly an hour and a half of it trying to get her to stop rambling and nearly spilling tears while she ignored his assurances.
